Josh has exceptional understanding of how the human body works. This deep knowledge, combined with his innate desire to help fellow human beings, makes every session with him extremely effective and powerful. I lift heavy weights, which causes tremendous stress on muscles and joints, and regular sessions with Josh help me stay healthy and ready for my next workout.

I can only agree wholeheartedly with the previous five-star reviews of Josh. I've been seeing him for 8 months, and he's been able to address structural problems more effectively than numerous other practitioners throughout the years, of which there have been many! I'm an older guy with a fair amount of body awareness due to intense periods of Alexander, Feldenkreis, Burdenko water exercise, resistance stretching, etc. So I can say from good experience that Josh's knowledge of how the body works and can be fixed is extraordinary. He's a very friendly fellow as well, comfortable to be around, and exceedingly responsible. In addition to his excellent body work, Josh has been a great guide to how to get the most out of workouts, having notable experience as a personal trainer in the past. I recommend Josh without reservation to anyone seeking help with specific problems or for just a great sense of well-being.

Josh Nunn is the single best bodyworker I have ever found, bar none. I've had many problems with hips, hamstrings, lower back and pretty much all joints for years. I've also had regular massages for years (usually chinatown as I prefer stronger massage), which helps keep worsening at bay. But issues persist. At the suggestion of my yoga instructor, I started seeing Josh and he is the first person who's managed to identify the causes, provide the relief and offer instruction on how to adjust my postures/behaviors to prevent reoccurrence. For the first time in about 10 years, I've been able to lift into a backbend (previously impossible due to back pain). My yoga practice gets better with every session I have with Josh. He's well worth the investment!

I have loved working with Josh over the past six months. He is extremely present, professional and knowledgeable about the body, and creates a comfortable, soothing environment where I can both relax and feel progress happening during our session. I have seen Josh after times of physically intensive work, and he finds a way to help my body reset so that I leave not only feeling more balanced, and but also with a mindfulness of my body. He always gives me tips or at home exercises, and has knowledgable responses to my anatomy and physiology questions (have you checked out his credentials yet?). I always walk out of our sessions feeling like a new person. Do your body a favor and book a session with Josh!

Josh is a phenomenal bodyworker and person! If your schedule allows, make sessions with him a routine because it will clean up your body from the inside out. He does more than find knots in your tight muscles, he gives you homework too! His consulting makes you more mindful of your body's passive state, your posture, and what you can do until the next time you see him to improve yourself. To work with Josh is to invest in your own body.

I first went to Josh with widespread pain throughout my body, I had been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but personally wasn't sure if the diagnosis was correct. Josh was able to help me understand what my body was doing in a way that even the Rheumatologist was unable to do.
On top of that, I had been to several masseuses before in hopes for some pain relief, and Josh had to work around my immediate fear of it being painful. He found a way to be able to get in deep enough without freaking me out, which is no mean feat.
After working on the muscle and postural side of things, Josh was also able to help me with my nutrition and lifestyle and a whole world of other influences I would have never thought of on my own, allowing me to find a way to manage my pain a little better.
Josh knows more about the body and the way it works, and why it reacts how it does than any other professional I have spoken to.
I have been in pain for 6 years now and have tried every different kind of therapy known to man. My normal range of motion is limited causing more pain in other parts of my body, but since seeing Josh I am able to move more freely and am causing myself a lot less pain because of it!
Josh is very efficient and prices himself very modestly. You'll want more than one session but I felt the difference right away.
Josh is a very caring person, and that really comes through in his work, without him i feel like I may have given up hope a long time ago. You will love Josh's energy as it makes you feel better ever before therapy has begun.

Josh was patient and I really felt listened to. This stands out because most people I’ve been to or spoken to assume they know what’s going on, when actually they don’t have the vaguest idea. This becomes really obvious when they tell me the cause of my pain and what I need to do about it - what they suggest inevitably makes things worse. Josh, on the other hand, came at it laterally. He actually took in all the small details and came up with solutions that worked. He gave me very simple yet profound exercises and I’m still conscious of balancing my weight evenly in my feet and unlocking my knees, even after 2 months of last seeing him. I think this is having a fantastic result regarding my lower back pain.
Josh's holistic approach is vital, I think, to fully addressing the presenting problem. He facilitated some good releases in session and primed me for further releases with another therapist and my own personal self-work. I feel quite different across all levels, more calm, energised, focused, free. I feel like myself again.
I’m still standing up straight! Well, straighter than I have in a long time. My abdominals aren’t bowing out much, when I relax I’m not slumping out. Freeing up the fascia under my ribs and my diaphragm has really helped with engagement of my core - without having to think about it! I feel naturally in place.
I’m slowly getting rid of the fluid retention, which has been present for the past year. I’m starting to fit back into my clothes from six months ago. Not well, but I’m getting there :)
This week I wrote two essays in four days, and I’m working on a third. I’ve struggled terribly for the last three years to write. I would just sit, staring blankly, I seriously would have no thoughts go through my head. I could intuitively understand how different sources related to a topic but I could not cognitively explain it. It’s been horrible and I’ve felt so dumb. I’ve tried so hard to sort this out, tried anything that might help. Two weeks ago, I has start writing for an ART therapy assignment. Over the weekend (about one week after I last saw Josh) I had a spontaneous unblocking and healing of my throat chakra. I had been trying to process an artwork for two weeks with no success. Then all this stuff flowed out relating to my PTSD; my artwork was entirely about my PTSD but I couldn’t cognitively acknowledge it until after that session. This is a MAJOR breakthrough for me and I fully attribute it to Josh's work. I also have regained my energy and stamina this week. No afternoon naps, no zombie state in front of the tv, no early nights. I’m focused and engaged with my work (this is actually pretty huge too).
I am astounded at the amount of positive change I’ve experienced after just four sessions. While I must’ve been on the precipice, I doubt any of it would’ve happened, and so quickly, had I not started my series with Josh He took on far more responsibility for my healing than was expected, and I was in a desperate enough state to let him. I actually noticed last week that I had started relaxing back into my old posture again. I gave myself a little talking to about how I was my own support, and that I needed to do this for myself. By the end of this week I’m having to re-correct my balance less, think less about taking full breaths. All of the pain in my back and legs is significantly reduced. I do need to see my chiro for my hip and neck but even those areas aren’t bothering me that much.
Thank you so much Josh!!

I have had an incurable arthritic disease, Ankylosing Spondylitis, since age 8. I have lived all over the world and had massages in Britain, France, Germany, USA, Israel, Holland, Belgium and Australia.
Having had massages most of my life, in many countries, I have the experience to say that Josh is exceptional. Of all the masseurs I have visited, only one other practitioner has come anywhere close to Josh’s instinct and expertise.
I have been treated for this disease all my life and been through all available therapies in my desire to avoid the bending of the “bamboo” spine. Nothing but massage has worked and no one has been as successful in reducing my pain and improving my mobility as Josh. My severe symptoms resulted in my walking with a cane during every winter as well as periods of complete inability to walk, until I met Josh.
Last winter was the first winter in 4 years that I walked pain-free and without a walking stick. Last year was also the first whole year that I was able to walk without a walking stick for an entire year since I was 55 years old.
I have one session every week and I noticed significant difference after the first session.
Josh is very empathetic. He understands when silence is needed to enable me to cope with pain and when we can talk. He asks directed questions to be sure that he is always on the mark. I appreciate his caring and commend him to others completely.

Owner KIMANDO Bootcamp Personal Training
I had been suffering with injuries to my feet for about seven years when I met Josh. I was training to run a marathon when I first started experiencing pain in my feet. In the beginning it would only hurt for the first ten minutes of my run. Once I was warm I was fine. It would be later that day and the days following that I would be hobbling around. Being young and foolish, I tried to train through it, until it got to the point where it was just unbearable even just walking or standing.
I was extremely disappointed that I wasn’t going to be able to reach my goal and run a marathon. But worse was the effect on my ability to work. I am a Personal Trainer - I need my feet - and being self-employed I can’t afford not to work.
So my long and expensive journey began to try to fix my feet. I spent years going to physios, chiros, sports doctors, orthopaedic surgeons, massage therapists and four different podiatrists. I tried three different orthotics prescriptions; cornerstone injections; dry kneeling; ultrasound; myofascial release; trigger point therapy; heating or icing my fee; taping; stretching; massage. You name it and I had tried it. Some of these treatments did give me a little relief but it was short lived.
Running out of options, I thought maybe the issue was my work, and the fact that my feet never had adequate time to recover. So I took six months off, running no classes what so ever, and tried to stay off my feet as best I could.
During this six months I was having two one hour massage / needling sessions a week plus an hour and a half myofascial release / stretch session. I spent almost $10,000 over this period (not to mention what I had spent in the years before). My feet were mildly better, but despite all the treatments I had tried, I still couldn’t run or do anything high impact. I couldn’t even jog without pain.
I had had enough; I stopped everything, no more specialists, no more treatments (other than what I could do myself). I was sooo frustrated. I was getting through by really limiting what exercise I did and icing my feet A LOT! On a bad day I would ice five or six times. I even had to ice my feet at night as they would wake me up just burning.
And then I met Josh and his amazing “12 series” ……
Within the first five minutes of talking to him I was I was already impressed. I could see how passionate he was about his work and that he is very knowledgeable. Being a Personal Trainer I thought I had a pretty good understanding of human anatomy. Josh’s understanding was, however, at a much deeper level.
He clearly knew his stuff but he wasn’t like some of the other specialists that I had been to who would talk down to you and make you feel stupid. Whatever the topic, Josh would take the time to explain things so I fully understood. He really is an incredible teacher. As well as verbally explaining things, Josh would use books and refer to pictures and diagrams. He even had a life size human skeleton which he would use to help explain something.
His approach was to work on balancing the whole body, not just focussing on my feet. Josh would work on one side of my body, and then get me to stand up and feel the difference between the two sides, before starting on the other side. This gave me so much more body awareness. Sometimes the differences were remarkable.
By my third session I was amazed at how much better my feet were though Josh had barely touched them yet. I didn’t have to ice at all. I remember walking out of that third session feeling amazing, full of energy. My feet were definitely better but I didn’t want to get my hopes up.
After my fourth session with Josh, I was completely pain free!!!!! And I COULD RUN!!!! It was incredible….. I was able to do everything I could do before and more.
I think the big difference that makes Josh stand out from the rest is that he looks at the whole picture. My pain was in my feet but Josh worked through my whole body. Though the hands-on work that he does is about the physical body, he taught me about the different bodies (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) and how important it is to look after all of them. He taught me about proper nutrition, about eating well to fuel your body and using food as a tool for healing instead of turning to medication.
Josh would always recommend different things that he thought I might like or that might help me, whether it was a supplement or an exercise. In my experience a lot of specialists discourage you from seeing anyone else for treatment. Josh had a network of professionals that he would be more than happy to refer you to and was always on the lookout for other people to net work with. He put me onto the naturopath and kinesiologist that I now use.
Josh constantly worked on his professional development, attending many courses and workshops, some even overseas. To me, this just shows his passion for his work and is another reason why Josh is as good as he is. He makes sure he is up to date with the latest research and is constantly updating his skills.
Not only did Josh fix my feet and get me back to doing what I love through his “12 series” sessions, but I learnt so much more.
THANK YOU, JOSH!!!!!

I have had a lot of pain after the birth of my twins. My injury started with Osteitis Pubis and my weak pelvis created other problems including back, hip, shoulder and neck pain.
I have sourced several types of treatment including Deep Tissue Massage, Chiropractic, Osteopathic, Physical Therapy and Pilates. These treatments are all beneficial to my recovery, however my biggest hurdle was finding someone who understood how to deliver this treatment.
I came across Josh’s therapy by chance while browsing the internet. Structural Integration is not well known in Australia but it sounded like it could be of benefit to me. After my session with Josh I realised he had extensive knowledge of the body anatomy and how the body works or ‘should’ move.
Josh’s therapy was thorough and he was able to explain why he was treating certain areas which gave me a better understanding of my own body. I found Josh to be very professional and personable and I always felt comfortable with him which was extremely important to me. Trust was established very early on and I was able to relax and let Josh treat my problem areas.
Our session would start with a brief on how I was feeling and any issues that I was having. From here Josh would examine my movement and posture as these were my problem areas. Treatment was applied according to the requirement for the day. At the end of the session Josh would give me 1 or 2 exercises/stretches to take home with me. I was not overwhelmed with too much information but just enough to continue progressing forward from week to week. Which I have.
Josh has been a huge part of my recovery and I am sad to see him go back to the states.

My job as a pianist took me to live all over the world. I have had massages in many of the world’s great cities. In my early 40’s I had a stroke and then around 8 years ago I smashed my ankle and lower leg in a fall and have limped and had pain ever since. Since the accident I have had all sorts of therapy and drugs.
Josh has managed to do more to reduce my pain level than all the rest of the therapies and drugs put together. He has been able to get right into the structure of my ankle and release the muscles around the metal pins. No one else has even got close. I have one session each week and after only 4 session I really noticed a considerable difference.
Not only is Josh’s professional work exceptional he is a very friendly and caring practitioner.
I now do a job which requires me to be on my feet for 10 hours, 6 days a week. Before working with Josh this job would not have been possible for me. I recommend Josh unconditionally.

I had been suffering repeated upper back-pain for a number of months, which despite numerous visits to physios, massage therapists, acupuncture and pain-killers, did not ease up. In desperation, I turned to the internet for an alternate approach and came across Structural Integration with Josh. I figured that I had exhausted all other avenues so anything was worth a go.
My first visit was unlike any consult I have had before as I had to strip down to my underwear whilst a professional eye was cast over my entire body, the way I held myself, the way I stood and the way I walked – all things I have done on auto-pilot and never really considered. Nonetheless, I was sceptical when he started working on my lower legs – the pain was in my shoulder blade so I was a little unclear how this was going to work. However, Josh was very patient with his explanations and at the end of the first session of 90 minutes, there was a definite shift in my back pain and I was pleased to note, that my legs felt different and I found myself bounding up my front steps minus knee pain!! This spurred me on to see what 11 more sessions could achieve!!
By the end of the 12 series, I developed an acute awareness of how I held myself, how I sat, how I walked and developed an appreciation for the various activities my body supports me with. Being close to 60, I had just assumed that posture of an elderly person – hunched over. Josh made me realise that in fact, I can stand tall and straight and he freed up my muscle groups to enable that to happen. There are times when sitting at my desk for extended hours, I find myself slouching over – but now I know that I don’t have to do that and can feel the difference in my back, neck and shoulders, when I sit correctly and mindfully.
This is a therapy unlike any other that I have tried over the years. By raising the physical awareness of my body, I move more fluidly, I have better balance and more confidence in being on two feet. Another advantage to this therapy was being able to straighten my left arm for the first time in 45 years. I broke my arm when I was a child but it had gone undetected and the belief was that I had only dislocated it. Subsequent x-rays over the years revealed an old break with bone chips floating around the joint. As it had not been treated correctly, I was left with numbness in my fingers and hand and a permanent bend in my arm. Surgery had failed to rectify this. One session with Josh – my arm is now straight and whilst I still experience numbness, the associated pain levels have reduced dramatically. Josh broke down all the scar tissue and released the arm to its natural position.
There are undoubtedly other practitioners that offer a similar service, but I found Josh to be a very compassionate therapist with an holistic approach to his work. This sat well with my own beliefs and I appreciated his input in other areas of my life around nutrition and lifestyle choices. Sometimes we know these things anyway – but it takes another person to remind us of such aspects of being human.
I have now had two rounds of the 12 series and the benefits and time and money invested have resulted in fewer visits to the chiropractor, less intake of pain-killers and increased mobility. Interestingly enough, by freeing up “stuck” areas within my body, it triggered me to become “un-stuck” in other areas of my life. I moved out of a toxic relationship and sold my home of 30 years. Both of these events were something that had to happen but I was “stuck” with no knowledge of how to do that. Whether it was a coincidence or not – the timing of these events were aligned to the work that Josh was doing. By removing the physical blockages within my body, it seemed to free up the energy body to enable me to move forward in life. The whole process from a physical perspective as well as spiritually and emotionally has been an amazing journey. So more than just my physical body has been healed……and thankfully……my back pain is no more!
I cannot speak highly enough of Josh’s services. He is a kind, compassionate person and given the nature of his work, he maintains a high degree of professionalism and integrity at all times. During the sessions, I felt that he had my best interests and outcome as his focus and unlike some practitioners, I never felt rushed out the door. The structural integration process has successfully aligned my life to be where I want it to be – enjoying being able to move freely, securely and with minimal pain – which I hope to continue for many years to come.
